Engineering Assembly Technician
Salary: £26,000 - £31,200, DOE
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 40hrs per week.
Fusion are excited to be working with an establish business who are specialist in the design and manufacture of machines used in a commercial industry.
The work is project based where each machine or production line is designed to match the customer specification and built to order in our workshop.
The machines are generally pneumatically operated by solenoid valves through PLC control. Many of the machines must work with flammable products so must comply with the ATEX Directive.
The work requires care to build equipment right first time and also to test and develop each machine; often the machines are like prototypes.
Installation locations are generally UK / France / wider Europe but also USA and elsewhere.
Skills and Experience:
You will assemble parts, sub-assemblies and complete machines with others and with experience work independently.
- A Mechanical Engineering qualification would be an advantage.
- The Successful candidate will require good basic mechanical engineering skills: using hand tools, drilling, tapping, fitting and some machine tools; Basic turning / milling would be useful.
- Knowledge of pneumatics and PLC control systems would be an advantage but working to develop such skills is good too.
- You need to problem solving skills and also good communication skills. You need to self-check your work is to discover problems at the beginning and every step.
You will be required to travel as part of a team to install machines in the UK and Europe and sometimes further.
