Due to relocation of role from Australia to the UK, my industry leading client is looking for an experienced Business/Financial Controller to join the team.
The position assists and works closely with the FD, primarily related to the Company's ongoing business within the Asia-Pacific region.
Tasks and responsibilities are closely linked to the company's values, and require skills and an interest in business and profitability control / development.
The role encompasses control and reporting of cost and revenue items and financial support to business and commercial activities.
Responsibilities and tasks:
1. Control of ongoing investment projects (monthly):
a. Gather cost and schedule information from the Accounting Staff, Vessel Operations Manager, Project Managers, Data Management, QC Services.
b. Update of Tracking PEM progress estimates
c. Supply updates to FD, Project Managers and Accounting Staff as required
d. Assist in compilation of Weekly Scorecards
2. PEM support
a. Provide investment and revenue forecasts for approved PEMs to Accounting Staff
b. Verification of payments to partners for projects with revenue sharing,
c. Other ad hoc finance support to project development as requested by FD
a. Prepare annual Budget (to include sales forecasts, investment forecasts, and agreeing assumptions on overhead items)
b. Work with FD to provide input to Strategic Plan
c. Impairment testing
4. Monthly reporting
a. Receive MMR from Accounting Staff, perform Cube analysis and describes variances from budget
b. Perform cube analysis of project performance (sales versus PEM, amortization rate, impairment risks)
c. Develop and provide other management information reports, key figures and analysis as agreed with FD
d. Prepare and present monthly financial review of AP business unit to CFO and FD.
5. Quarterly Reporting
a. Preparation of quarterly Tax Effect Accounting entries,
b. Prepare final QMR, FNP and review with FD
a. Work with FD and Accounting Staff to provide information and explanations to Auditors
7. Business & Commercial Support
a. Support ad hoc analysis tasks and special projects as agreed with FD
a. Tax compliance activities, including review and preparation of Payroll Statement reporting, plus Fringe Benefits Tax, Payroll Tax, and Workers Compensation returns prepared by Accounting Staff.
b. Income Tax returns - in conjunction with PwC compile and review with FD.
a. Review and approve AP monthly payroll and end of year returns prepared by HR/Office Manager.
a. Take responsibility for own safety and comply with all instructions given regarding health, safety and the protection of the environment.
b. Ensure the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment as required and report any hazards, accidents or injuries to immediate supervisor.
