IT Support Specialist - Chessington - £23,000 - £26,000 + Benefits
This client supplies a full range of medical equipment across the UK and Ireland. They are looking for an IT Support Specialist to join their growing team.
The Role
- Customer serviced based providing remote (telephone, remote desktop) and on-site technical support to a large UK / Ireland / European customer base
- Prioritise and resolve customer complaints, talking clients through a series of actions to resolve their issues
- Maintain support call history
- Ensure a high standard of service for customers at all times, resolving problems effectively
- Assist with training
- Test and document new software modules
- Support the roll-out of software upgrades
- Installing and configuring new computer hardware, operating systems and applications
- Troubleshooting issues with computer hardware, and either repair/resolve them or escalate to manufacturer
Skills Required
- Must have good knowledge of SQL, together with commercial experience (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DB2), or demonstrable open source project work
- Must have at least one year of experience installing operating systems and replacing computer parts, either commercial experience or hobbyist work
- Must have at least one year's experience providing software support
- Excellent problem-solving and logical thinking skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrable experience - someone who wrote user documentation (e.g., cheat sheets, how-to guides) and provided training to end-users
- Excellent numeric skills (e.g., simple statistics)
- Good networking knowledge
- Basic knowledge of HTML
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organised
- Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
- Clean EU driving licence and ability to travel freely within the EU
Other useful skills
- Knowledge of scripting (e.g. VBScript)
- Windows Server skills
