Workshop/Warehouse Assembly Technician
Our Client based in Dorking is looking for a new member to join the assembly team in the workshop.
Assembling control cables and hydraulic hoses. Once made, the items are checked packed and either put into stock or picked to be sent to a customer.
The workshop team consist of 7 personnel. It is important that the team is flexible to cover for holidays and peaks of work in certain areas.
Over time the work shop team are cross trained in the various processes. The current team can all cover all processes in the work shop.
They are looking for #8 to join the team, assistance is needed in the hose production. The following brief description covers this particular process.
1 Receive the factory orders.
2 Prioritise as necessary by due date
3 Follow the manufacturing instruction sheet for each product. This involves the following processes.
- Cut the hose to length
- Fit end ferrules
- Crimp end ferrules
- Pressure test completed hose.
4 Maintain a clean and safe work area.
The work requires the following personal characteristics.
1 Hard working: Someone who wants to get through the work at a good pace.
2 Physically dexterous: The work is not heavy or dirty but can be 'fiddly'.
3 Good eyesight and happy with working with figures: Instructions and lengths are measured to 1mm.
4 Dilligent: Quality of product is essential.
The normal working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, from the hours of 14:00 and 22:00hrs.
The normal rate of pay is £9.33 gross per hour. (totalling £350 p/w Gross)
The normal working days are: Monday to Friday. During the training period, of up to ten weeks subject to performance, the candidate will would be working a Mid Shift from 08:00 to 17:00 hrs. (40 hrs. per week) at a rate of £8.75 gross per hour (totalling £350 p/w Gross). This will allow the candidate to familiarise themselves with the team, product and environment before joining the late shift team.
The late shift is paid at a higher hourly rate due to the less regular hours.
Training will be provided as required depending on the workshop the candidate is needed in and subject annual to review.
You will be ntitled to 20 days holiday per year. This excludes public holidays. A candidate will never be required to work public holidays. The holiday year begins on 1st April.
