My client is looking for an enthusiastic, versatile and well-organised individual with lots of initiative to join the team as a Conference and Events Assistant. The company's events portfolio includes an extensive series of conferences that target their specific industry: these events will be the main focus for this new role.
My client also runs a number of other events, conferences and awards programmes which recognise best practice in the various sectors, and the successful candidate will assist with other events across the company as required. My client is also a leading B2B publishing powerhouse, with a wide range of print and digital products.
About the role
You will support the Conference Director in organising and promoting our series of conferences, and other company events as required. This position will involve a wide range of tasks, including:
Helping to coordinate the successful running of company events
Delegate and event participant sourcing and management
Speaker sourcing and management
Relationship management with existing sponsors
Managing delegate registrations and speaker/sponsor spreadsheets
Uploading and maintaining content on the company's websites
Running social media campaigns
Writing marketing emails, blog posts and other content
Event logistics, including booking flights and accommodation
Event management, including obtaining quotes for venues, catering and other third party services
Budget management
Attending conferences and events
Excellent time/project management skills are essential for this role, and the ideal candidate will be able to turn their hand to a wide variety of tasks and demonstrate attention to detail. You need to be a good communicator with external clients and within a team, whether in person, over the phone or via email, with a good level of proficiency in MS Office packages. Full training will be provided for all aspects of this position.
For this hybrid role, you'll mainly be based in our Covent Garden office in central London, with some work from home. However, as international travel will form part of your duties in order to attend events, a valid passport will be necessary. All conference travel costs will be covered by the company.
